This family wanted to replace a deteriorated backyard patio & roof cover with a new functional space. They also wanted a lower maintenance landscape and was open to the idea of synthetic turf. The goal: help them to connect their life & land.

The project began with the need for a larger driveway to accommodate a growing family of drivers! From there we explored options to increase the families outdoor living experience and how to better utilize their landscape.

This well-lit backyard with a custom outdoor kitchen + grill smoke station, hot tub, fire pit, and fireplace seating area makes outdoor living enjoyable all year long. We created a transitional space suited for entertaining guests whether it’s a night cookout, wine by the firepit, or relaxing by the water feature. 

Our attention to detail is reflected in the custom stonework of the additional walls and grill station, matched to the century-old home’s original stones using chert and limestone. The final product took an old, deteriorated deck and turned it into a refined outdoor living area. 

Step inside this custom designed chicken coop for a rustic escape right in the middle of a charming residential area. The coop was built to gather several generations of family to create memories for years to come.

Every chef and outdoor enthusiast’s dream: a bountiful backyard garden full of fresh vegetables and herbs waiting to be prepared on the grill and enjoyed al fresco. The surplus of homegrown produce invites neighbors and family alike to enjoy the fruits (or in this case, vegetables!) of the owners’ labor while creating a reason for generations of family members to enjoy outdoor living. 

Brick by brick, this driveway and retaining wall was reconstructed using rare Old Bessemer Grey brick to complement the historic home. The elegant side patio provides contrast using more modern pavers and fresh florals. 

This family can enjoy their custom putting green and pool in total privacy thanks to an aesthetically pleasing fence designed to match the elements of their home. There’s no better feeling than stepping right into the pool after nailing that last hole-in-one. 

This family is the host of their children’s families, philanthropic groups, church groups and so much more. It is a challenge to keep up with the love this family has for their community by giving them enough space to do so. 

An avid golfer with a serious green, this family can have putting tournaments while entertaining their closest friends and family! 

This terracing has given this family the ability to host entertaining their ‘Big Fat Lebanese Family’ more and more often, having between 30-40 people at their home almost monthly feels just right. 

This family of 7 now votes for ‘staying at home’ instead of the destination getaway. 

Living close to downtown but wanting the feeling of country living was the goal; texture and thought go a long way. 

By adding modern conveniences of the fountain, lighting, and useable layout to make entertaining easy, we worked hard to keep alive memories of the past.

There is perhaps nothing more charming than an elegant old home in a historic Southern neighborhood. Our mission was to make this home modern-day livable while keeping the spirit of its historic personality.

We were tasked with taking a small backyard which the home builders had previously filled with grass and turning it into an inviting space—one in which they wanted to spend every evening.

Our client renovated a turn of the century home into a modern statement and needed a landscape to complement the architecture they enjoy.

This waterfront backyard hones in succinctly on the minimalism and bare concrete which romanticize a brutalist backyard masterpiece replete with modern conveniences like the outdoor kitchen and inviting hot tub.

Instead of purchasing a second home, the client decided to create a vacation destination right in their own back yard. When the project was finished, the family had a whole new world waiting just outside their door.

A vast, previously unlivable yard was transformed by more than just landscape design, but by a relationship. What resulted were lush, deeply personal spaces genuinely reflecting the family who dwells in them.
